At Harris Associates, we’re dedicated to upholding the highest standards of building safety and compliance.
We now offer Building Safety Case Reports to help you meet the latest regulatory requirements, and ensure your building's safety and compliance.
This service has been introduced as a result of the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022 that gained Royal Assent on 28 April 2022 and became effective on 1st October 2023.
Our Safety Case services are structured into four key stages:
We begin with a thorough initial review, gathering all relevant information and performing a GAP analysis to identify any discrepancies or areas requiring improvement.
This initial step ensures that all aspects of the building's safety are thoroughly assessed.
In this stage, we assist our clients in collecting and organising the necessary documentation and data.
The client is responsible for supplying this information, which forms the basis of the Safety Case and SCR, with guidance and support provided by our team throughout.
Our experts then prepare a detailed Building Safety Case Report. This report includes all findings from the initial review and GAP analysis.
These are presented in a thorough document that meets all regulatory requirements.
Building safety is an ongoing responsibility. We offer annual reviews and updates of the SCR to ensure that it remains current with any new regulations or changes in the building's use or structure.
This continuous monitoring and updating process helps maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Our services adhere to regulatory standards and guidelines, including but not limited to:
Harris Associates is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and we follow the highest professional standards.

Shaun Harris and his team of professionals have worked for me on a very complex cladding remediation contract in Clerkenwell.
The project was a great success brought in on budget. Although completed earlier this year, Shaun continues to advise us on fire safety related matters. He is not only very knowledgeable in the areas of façade remediation and contract management but his knowledge of the relevant statute(s) is exemplary.
His ability to simplify the complex and to explain risks, liabilities, actions and solutions in layman’s terms is an enormous help to us and gives us confidence and assurance in equal measure.
We have no hesitation in recommending their services.
We sought out a professional service that could instil in us the utmost confidence within the intricate and ever-evolving realm of fire safety.
What we truly desired was not just competence but a level of expertise that transcended the ordinary.
We aimed for an environment where we could trust not only the advice given but also the guiding process itself.
Central to this aspiration was the ability to unravel complexity, presenting it in a simplified form, and delivering clear, well-informed judgments grounded in profound knowledge.
We have worked with Harris Associates, and Shaun Harris in particular, on more than one project. Shaun is hugely knowledgeable in his areas of expertise and especially on fire remediation matters.
The current legislation on fire safety which includes the latest Building Safety Act (BSA) is extremely complex and I have been impressed with Shaun’s knowledge as well as enthusiasm for the subject. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Shaun is one of the country’s leading experts on the subject of fire remediation and fire safety matters.
In my most recent meeting with Shaun two weeks ago he was able to explain the latest BSA very clearly and offered advice on the funding options and grants available.
